VPNs can protect your privacy and allow you to access content that's restricted in your country, but they are not perfect, and it's quite difficult to make such a system completely airtight. The developers of Encrypt.me recognize this truth, so they've focused their efforts on security, rather than concealing one's identity. This piece of software uses VPN technology to protect your connection and prevent browser leaks, WiFi eavesdropping, broadband spying and other activities that could result in your private data becoming public knowledge. It's designed to be as simple as possible, even for novice users, so you don't have to be a tech genius to secure your connection.

You can test Encrypt.me's capabilities for a limited time, without spending a dime. The software can be installed in just a few seconds, without making any complex settings along the way. You can use it on any modern Windows system, and you can also find it for Mac OS X, as well as Android and iOS mobile devices.

Clicking one button is all you have to do to make your connection safe. The application works quietly in the background, and you can bring up a small panel in the lower-right corner of the screen, through its system tray icon, on which you will find the button for encrypting your connection. It takes a few seconds to complete the operation, and your connection may be interrupted a bit, but then you will be able to enjoy everything the Internet has to offer, without worrying about your private information falling in the wrong hands.

When connecting to a VPN, the application tries to find the fastest server in your region by default. You can also manually select one of many servers from around the world, though your connection speed will have to suffer. Additionally, the software lets you compile a list of trusted WiFi networks so that it would automatically encrypt your traffic only when you connect to an untrusted network.

Although it's based on VPN technology, one thing you should know about Encrypt.me is that it doesn't make it look like you are from a different country. Its purpose is purely to ensure that no one will be able to access your device, whether you connect to your home network or a public WiFi.

Rather than trying to perfect a system that will always have flaws, Encrypt.me focuses on delivering ironclad protection capabilities for your entire family.

Pros

The software uses VPN technology to secure your Internet connection. It takes a single click to activate its protection feature. You can choose between numerous servers, from all over the world.

Cons

There are no serious complaints to have, even if it doesn't make it look like you're from a different country.
